Scrum Simulation - Project phases and sprints

The Scrum Simulation aims to familiarize participants with Scrum practices by simulating a project’s lifecycle. Participants will experience sprint planning, execution, and review, gaining practical insights into Agile project management. Participants engage in a fictional tourism project, “Alpine Adventure Tours,” set in the Austrian Alps. Their goal is to plan and execute the project using Scrum practices.

Phase 1: Planning and Research (Sprint 1):

Participants define key features of the tour package (guided hikes, biking trails, chalet stays). They research local regulations, safety guidelines, and environmental impact. A backlog of user stories (e.g., “As a hiker, I want well-marked trails”) is created.

Phase 2: Website Development (Sprint 2-3):

Participants develop a user-friendly website with booking functionality. Features are prioritized (e.g., tour descriptions, availability calendar, payment gateway). Usability testing ensures a seamless user experience.

Phase 3: Marketing and Launch (Sprint 4-5):

Marketing materials (brochures, social media content) are created. Collaboration with influencers and travel bloggers is essential. The tour package is launched with a promotional event. There are included online available resources to deepen their understanding.
