Forum on Vocational Excellence 2023 in Amsterdam
From 25 September – 26 September, CATALYST consortium representatives had the opportunity to participate in the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2023 in Amsterdam.
The Forum discussed the latest developments on the European initiative on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). It was attended by high-level political representatives, including national governments, social partners and their European-level representatives, VET provider associations, regional authorities, International organisations, and European institutions and Agencies.
About the Forum
In Europe, we’ve been teaming up to tackle societal challenges and enhance vocational skills for years – it’s our passion and expertise.
Yet, there’s more to be done because tomorrow’s issues are knocking on our doors today. Digitalization, climate and energy transition, and labour market shortages are challenges we can no longer afford to overlook. This is where Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) shine, uniting our efforts to make a significant impact. The Forum was a great opportunity to present the CATALYST Project, network, learn from each other, and discuss future possibilities of education.
Continuation Strategies for CoVEs: Impact is Key
On the second day of the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2023, our project manager Angelina Taneva-Veshoska, moderated a dynamic workshop, “Continuation strategies for CoVEs – impact is key”. The session was designed to facilitate a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences among participants, emphasizing the critical role of impactful strategies in CoVEs.The workshop was interactive, enabling participants to share their expertise, engage in group discussions, and delve into crucial aspects of managing CoVE projects. Focused discussions revolved around sustainable business models and strategies that can drive enduring impact.
Project CATALYST and How to Get Involved
The project’s activities include the analysis and mapping of the needs and challenges of employees and companies in relation to the topics of sustainability and management. With carefully developed bottom-up approach, answering several pressing economic and social needs, the CATALYST CoVE will create VET training program, with more than 70 courses and possibilities to co-create and share knowledge through applied research projects between educational and business organisations, which will be united via the CATALYST Platform for education, collaboration and networking. This project will provide unique learning experiences for professionals, students and SMEs, fostering learner-centred approach, and utilising innovative training methodologies.
